Lizzy Caplan began her acting career on the small screen, making TV appearances in the 2000 TV-movie “From Where I Sit” and NBC’s series “Freaks and Geeks.” Caplan then appeared in the Fox series “Undeclared” and “Once and Again” in 2001, followed by “Smallville” and “The Sharon Osbourne Show.” During this time, Lizzy Caplan was also featured on Jason Mraz’s music video for “You and I Both” and starred in the TV film “Close to Home.”

In 2002, Lizzy Caplan tried her luck on the big screen, starting with the short film “Hardcore Action News.” She then appeared in the MTV-produced comedy called “Everybody’s Doing It.” By 2003, Lizzy began to star in various short-lived TV shows, beginning with Fox Network’s “The Pitts,” where she played Faith Pitt. She then had a four-episode role on the final season of “Tru Calling.” In 2005, Lizzy Caplan landed the starring role of Marjee Sorelli in the WB series “Related.”

Lizzy Caplan began a successful movie career, starting with the 2002 Jack Black comedy flick “Orange County.” However, her breakthrough role came when she was cast alongside Lindsay Lohan in the teen comedy “Mean Girls,” playing the dark-haired sidekick to Lohan’s character. Although Lizzy Caplan had been praised for her comedic skills, she returned to drama with the 2006 thriller movie “Love is the Drug.”

When “Related” ended in 2006, Lizzy Caplan won a role in the CBS sitcom “The Class.” Although the series only lasted one season, Caplan continued to work on various gigs, such as a presenter gig at the ‘People’s Choice Award,’ and an appearance on the talk show “The View.” In 2007, Lizzy played the role of Jacqueline in the movie “Crashing.” She then played Marlena Diamon in the sci-fi thriller movie “Cloverfield,” which led to a Saturn Award nomination for ‘Best Supporting Actress.’

In 2008, Lizzy Caplan worked alongside Kate Hudson in the romantic comedy “My Best Friend’s Girl.” That same year, Lizzy guest-starred in the hit HBO show “True Blood,” playing Amy Burley for six episodes and a one-episode gig for the TV show “The Life & Times of Tim.” Recent movies of Lizzy Caplan include “Crossing Over,” “The Last Rites of Ransom Pride” and “Hot Tub Time Machine.” She also stars in the TV show “Party Down.”

In 2009, Caplan lent her voice for the cartoon version of Faith Hill on the animated TV series “The Pitts.” Since 2006, Lizzy has also lent her voice to the character of Debbie on “American Dad.”
